Connecticut Voices for Children wants to recognize champions for Connecticut’s children, and we need your help! We are now accepting nominations for our annual First for Kids Awards, which honor individuals and organizations for their public leadership and effective advocacy on behalf of Connecticut’s children, youth and families.
Since 1999, Connecticut Voices has recognized those who do extraordinary work on behalf of children across Connecticut. Each nomination is important and helps us in our work to ensure that all Connecticut children have an opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Our First for Kids Awards recognize winners in several possible categories, including Leadership for Children, Public Service, Youth Voice, Transformational Philanthropy, Media Voice, and Lifetime Achievement. See more details on these categories on our nomination form. Past First for Kids Award winners have included elected officials, foundations, youth leaders, statewide advocates, educators, community activists, mentors, journalists, and other state and local leaders.
The First for Kids Awards event provides an opportunity for us to say "thank you" to people who have invested time, energy, and talent to improve opportunities for children and families.
Please mark your calendar for this year’s event, which will take place on Wednesday, November 12 from 5 to 7 pm at the Pond House Café in Hartford! We’ll announce more details in the coming weeks.
And please take a moment to share your suggestions on our online nomination form!
Nominations must be received by August 8, 2014. We also invite you to share this invitation with others via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter.
