2023 Community Policy Forum

Back •  Event Date: October 19, 2023

We hope you can join us for our first in-person Community Policy Forum on October 19 from 6-8pm at UCONN Stamford.

Did you know Connecticut is the 10th least affordable state in the country (based on rent-to-income ratio). Housing is a basic building block of family economic security. However, rent is rising faster than income and there’s a housing shortage, leaving families few options.

For the past 22 years, Connecticut Voices for Children has hosted a Tax & Budget Forum (see details below for our 23rd forum!) that provides relevant research, recommendations, and reflections on the pressing issues at the time. Since 2020, we’ve been intentional about creating spaces that uplift resident voices around our state’s budget.

At this free community discussion you’ll hear from local experts about the affordable housing crisis in Fairfield County and how our progressive revenue is part of the solution. Join us as we explore the intersection of housing, revenue, and racial equity!

We envision a Connecticut that creates opportunity for everyone, not just the lucky and privileged few. Together, we can ensure a prosperous future for all of our children.
