State Representative Jeffrey Berger: Legislative Leadership Award
For Representative Berger’s leadership and commitment to ensuring Connecticut’s children and families thrive. As House Chair of the Finance Committee, Representative Berger safeguarded at-risk funding for children and families in the final state budget. His work helped thousands of children and families maintain essential services to help them prosper. Representative Berger is serving his eighth term in the Connecticut General Assembly representing the 73rd Assembly District in Waterbury. He is the House Chair of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and member of the Executive and Legislative Nominations and Judiciary Committees.Ashley Chevrette: Youth Voice Award
For her extraordinary grace, her dedication to using her personal story, as a foster youth, as a springboard for policy and advocacy, and her commitment to Connecticut’s most vulnerable children and youth. Her work to bring awareness to foster care and foster youth services helped to advance policies that provide foster youth with stability and hope for the future. Ashley is 19 years old and has been a client of DCF since she was 8 years old. She attends Southern Connecticut State University and plans on double majoring in social work/pre law and political science/journalism. She intends to focus on policy and administration while remaining a youth advocate for those in the system.
Tickets: $60 per person, $250 per organization (5 tickets) includes hors d'oeuvres and 2 drink tickets per person.
