This report finds that 9.4% percent of children enrolled in HUSKY A in 2003 received health care for asthma, essentialy unchanged from the previous year. The prevalance of asthma was higher among children ages 1-5, boys, Hispanic & African-American children, and children living in Bridgeport & Hartford. Less than one in five children who had emergency care for asthma in 2004 received follow-up care within two weeks of the visit, as recommended.

We envision a Connecticut that creates opportunity for everyone, not just the lucky and privileged few. Together, we can ensure a prosperous future for all of our children.
