Nearly one of every four babies born in Connecticut in 2002 was born to a mother enrolled in HUSKY A (Medicaid). In some cities and towns (e.g., Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport), HUSKY A covered a far greater proportion of pregnancies. In these communities, the importance of HUSKY A for improving maternal health and birth outcomes cannot be overstated.

We envision a Connecticut that creates opportunity for everyone, not just the lucky and privileged few. Together, we can ensure a prosperous future for all of our children.
