Through the American Community Survey, the Census provided five-year average estimates on social and economic indicators for the period of 2006-2010 for all cities and towns in the state. This data summary and analysis by Connecticut Voices summarizes key data on child and family well-being for these cities and towns, with estimates of residents in poverty, children in poverty, residents below 200% of the federal poverty level, median household income, and residents with a Bachelor's degree. Our analysis indicates where there have been statistically significant changes between the 2000 decennial Census estimates (the most recent comparison period available for all towns) and these 2006-2010 estimates. This enables us to explore how Connecticut cities and towns have changed over the past decade.
