This brief describes in HUSKY enrollment from the beginning of the HUSKY program in July 1998 and reviews findings of two recent reports on uninsured children. The data demonstrate the need to continue special efforts to enroll African American children and to work on making sure eligible children stay enrolled in the HUSKY program.
