The Fiscal Year 2006 state budget eliminated simplified electronic verification of income, known as “self-declaration of income,” for the HUSKY health insurance program. Since July 2005, 10,000 fewer individuals are enrolled in HUSKY A. A significant portion of this major decline in enrollment is due to the loss of electronic verification, which makes it more difficult for eligible families to enroll in HUSKY.
