This report on use of preventive care services among children in HUSKY A (Medicaid) found that preventive care utilization increased in 2006; however, about one-third of children did not receive well-child care and over half did not have preventive dental care. Fewer children went the entire year without any health services; however, nearly one in ten did not receive any care in 2006, despite being enrolled all year. Preventive care rates continue to fall short of professional recommendations and expectations for HUSKY Program and health plan performance.

We envision a Connecticut that creates opportunity for everyone, not just the lucky and privileged few. Together, we can ensure a prosperous future for all of our children.
